I'll Take You There: An Oral and Photographic History of the Hines Farm Blues ClubI'll Take You There: An Oral and Photographic History of the Hines Farm Blues Club by Matthew A. Donahue

I'll Take You There, is an oral and photographic history of one of America's premier blues clubs located in Northwest, Ohio, and quite popular in the 1950s,1960s, and early 1970s. It was more than just a blues club and featured African American motorcycle racing, horse racing and exhibition baseball games. The author conducted a series of interviews with local and national blues musicians, and other African Americans who participated in events at Hines Farm. Also included are 63 black and white photographs from the 1950s and 1960s, of performers, patrons, African American motorcycle clubs at Hines Farm and posters for events at Hines Farm for such blues and jazz greats as John Lee Hooker, Count Basie, Little Esther Phillips, Jimmy reed and many others.
